In-Home Diagnostic Services

Sometimes, what’s going on inside your pet needs a closer look. Our in-home diagnostic services allow us to check blood pressure, screen urine, and run blood tests - all without the stress of a traditional vet practice. These services are usually combined with a consultation, and we’ll always guide you on what’s needed, when, and why.

Whether you’re monitoring a chronic condition, investigating symptoms, or just want peace of mind, we make the process simple, gentle, and convenient - right from your own home.

Understanding In-Home Diagnostics

Diagnostics might sound complicated, but we’re here to make it easy. Here are some common questions pet owners ask us before booking.

Vet with a cat

Can you really do diagnostic tests at home?

Yes! We can carry out blood pressure checks, collect blood and urine samples, and run many common screens - all during a home visit.

Do I need to book a consultation as well?

Yes - diagnostics are always done as part of a consultation, either with a vet or a nurse depending on the case. We'll advise what’s best.

Will I get results on the same day?

Some results are immediate (like blood pressure). Others are sent to a professional lab, and we’ll usually have results within 1–3 working days.

What kind of conditions do these tests help detect?

They can help monitor kidney function, liver health, diabetes, thyroid issues, infections, and more - especially in older pets or those with symptoms.

Can you test both dogs and cats?

Yes - we offer diagnostics for both cats and dogs, and tailor our approach depending on the species, breed, and condition.

How is blood or urine collected at home?

Our team uses gentle, low-stress handling techniques to collect samples safely, and always with your pet’s comfort in mind.

Can I request a specific test?

You’re welcome to ask, but we’ll always assess whether it’s clinically necessary and advise on the right diagnostics based on your pet’s needs.

Do you offer senior pet health screens?

Yes! Regular diagnostics are especially helpful in older pets to detect issues early, often before symptoms appear.

What if my pet won’t cooperate?

We’re experienced in handling nervous or wriggly pets. In rare cases where a sample can’t be collected, we’ll discuss options with you.

Can these results be shared with another vet?

Absolutely. If needed, we can send test results and summaries to your regular vet or referral centre.
